Who We Are

The story of Jackson Naurori, the Cleave family and the 100% Kenyan-owned camps they built in the Mara.

ABOUT: Tembo by Jackson Collection
Tembo by Jackson Collection

Our History

The Tembo by Jackson Collection was created by Jackson Naurori, a full bloodied Masai warrior. Born in the Mara, herding and protecting cattle from lions, Jackson’s Mara skills and knowledge are unparalleled. Jackson expanded the Mara visitor’s experience with two different camps: the Tembo Sprit camp in the beautiful Lemek conservancy with a spa, swimming pool, walking safaris and night game drives and the Tembo Bush camp in the heart of the National Reserve for the traditional wildlife safari. Partnering with the Cleave family, the Tembo by Jackson collection remains a 100% Kenyan owned facility. The Cleaves lifetime experience in flying bush planes into wildlife areas in Botswana, Tanzania and Kenya adds a wealth of aviation experience of wildlife areas and camps.

Why Choose Tembo By Jackson Camps

01

Teamwork

We plan each safari around our guests, adjusting the pace, routes and daily programme to match their expectations.

02

Safety & Security

We keep guests safe while allowing respectful wildlife viewing, close enough to feel the Mara without disturbing the animals.

03

Motivated Staff

Our guides are experienced, attentive and reliable, helping every safari feel personal, informed and well cared for.

04

Sustainable Tourism

We support a cleaner future through responsible operations, local sourcing and practical environmental care at camp.

05

Community Empowerment & Wildlife Conservation

Through Masai Mara Solidarity, every stay helps support local schools, sponsor children and protect the wildlife they will inherit.

Masai Mara Solidarity

Small Streams Make Big Rivers

Promoting Education and Awareness of Wildlife and Environmental Protection

Masai Mara Solidarity actively supports the Masai community by financing access to school for children from disadvantaged families, with the support of the French association Masai Mara Solidarité France. Don't be surprised if you come across a Tembo by Jackson vehicle in the savannah on safari with Masai children: the association is raising awareness among these children of their future role in protecting the environment and wildlife.

The future of the cheetahs of the Masai Mara is inextricably linked to the future of Masai children!
